Incorporated in 1992, Jammat (pronounced Jah-Maht) Housing and Community Development Corporation (JHCDC) is a community-based, minority owned and operated 501(C)(3), non-profit corporation located in Providence, RI. We serve individuals and families throughout Rhode Island with programs operating in the cities of Providence, Warwick and Pawtucket.
JHCDC provides educational and support services including childcare, residential care for juveniles, recreational offerings, educational opportunities and other community services and events. We operate two major and distinct programs – Beautiful Beginnings Child Care Center for children (ages 6 weeks – 6 years), and Turning the Corner Residential Treatment Programs for youth (ages 12 – 21) placed in our care by the Rhode Island Department of Children, Youth and Families (DCYF).
Our work is guided by our motto: “People Making a Difference.” As such, we’re committed to improving the quality of life of the clients we serve as well as our employees, both of which represent a diverse ethnic population. We believe that all people have an intrinsic value that can and should be cultivated, in order to help them become the best persons they can be – despite whatever historical odds they may have faced. We also believe that by investing the proper resources in our staff, we can help them make a difference in the communities in which they serve.
